Arms Seizure in Kokrajhar Raises Security Concerns in Assam

A major arms cache, including four handmade rifles resembling AK-47s, was seized in Kokrajhar during Assam Police’s Operation Praghat.

The STF, led by SDGP Harmeet Singh, also recovered explosives, 34 live rounds, 24 blank cartridges, and IED-making materials from ABT cadres Zaher Sheikh and Sabbir Mirdha. The cache suggests planned terror activities.

Singh noted the seizures may have thwarted a significant terror attack. Investigations are ongoing, with forensic teams analyzing the materials. The public has been urged to stay vigilant.
