ASESWU Hosts EEFI East-Zonal Meeting to Address Power Sector Issues

The Assam State Electricity Supply Workers’ Union (ASESWU) will host the east-zonal committee meeting of the Electricity Employees’ Federation of India (EEFI) in Guwahati on August 18. Representatives from multiple states and power entities will attend. ASESWU General Secretary Dhrubajyoti Sarma highlighted concerns over the current electricity act, which has weakened public-sector powerhouses, favoring private control. The meeting will focus on protecting the rights of electricity employees and consumers while addressing the challenges in the sector.
