Assam Abolishes Divisional System in Matric Exams

Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu announced that Assam will no longer use the divisional system in matric exams. The shift towards a pass/fail system began with the last HSLC exam. The move aims to de-emphasize grades, allowing higher education institutions and employers to use their own evaluation criteria. Assam will also align its curriculum with CBSE standards for consistency. Formal announcements on these changes will be made soon.
