Assam ACS Officer Caught Red-Handed Taking ₹50,000 Bribe

Assam Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Directorate arrested ACS officer Gaurav Shekhar Das for accepting a ₹50,000 bribe at the Bajali DC office. He had initially demanded ₹1 lakh from a businessman for allowing smooth clay cutting operations but later reduced it. The complainant reported the matter, leading to a trap where Das was caught red-handed. The bribe money was seized in the presence of witnesses. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
