Assam Assembly Session to Begin on May 21, Says Himanta Biswa Sarma

Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday announced that the new session of the Assam Assembly will begin on May 21, where newly elected MLAs will take oath. The 16th Assam Assembly is likely to sit for three days.

After paying tribute to Assam’s first Chief Minister Gopinath Bordoloi in Guwahati, Sarma said the government would continue focusing on Assam’s security, development and public welfare.

Sarma, who recently took oath for a second consecutive term, said the new government would continue the work started during its previous tenure and focus on delivering results for the people.
