Assam Begins Statewide Destruction of Seized Drugs Worth ₹472 Crore

Nalbari: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday launched a statewide drug disposal drive by inaugurating the state’s first narcotics incinerator in Nalbari. Over the next 10 days, seized drugs worth ₹472.51 crore will be scientifically destroyed.

The Chief Minister said Assam Police has seized narcotics worth ₹3,227 crore in the last five years and stressed that the public destruction of drugs sends a strong message against drug trafficking. Police units across several districts also destroyed seized narcotics as part of the statewide campaign.
