Assam Budget Session Begins in Kokrajhar

The Assam Legislative Assembly’s Budget Session begins today in Kokrajhar, marking the first time a session is held outside Guwahati. Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya will address the House, followed by the presentation of government bills, supplementary grants, and allocations for 2024-25. A special discussion on socio-economic development under the Sixth Schedule will also take place. The session will adjourn on February 18 and resume on February 19. Finance Minister Ajanta Neog will present the 2025-26 state budget on March 10. The session is expected to conclude by March 25.
