Assam Cabinet Approves ₹115 Cr Road Projects, Key Policy Reforms

The Assam Cabinet has approved ₹115 crore for road widening and construction in Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, Tinsukia and Dima Hasao districts. It also cleared amendments to the Assam Police Manual, allowing both armed and unarmed personnel to appear for ASI exams.

Two amendments to the Assam Land and Revenue Regulation, 1886 were approved to enable digital hearings and electronic services, aiming to reduce pendency and improve transparency. The decisions will help Assam avail incentives of up to ₹150 crore under the National Incentive Framework.

The Cabinet also approved allotment of over 31 bighas of land for Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam at Sonapur, regularisation of eight Mumbai Assam Bhawan employees, land pattas for around 900 families in Kamrup (Metro) under Basundhara, and the temporary upgrade of the Liaison Officer post at Assam Bhawan, New Delhi.
