Assam Cabinet Approves ₹49.59 Cr Water Supply Project for Badarpur

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced Cabinet approval for a ₹49.59 crore drinking water project for Badarpur Town. The scheme will supply 24/7 potable water from the Barak River, covering over 34,000 residents till 2057. It includes seven years of operation and maintenance. The move fulfills a promise made during the 2022 Cabinet meet in Silchar. Ministers and MLAs welcomed the decision, calling it a major boost for Barak Valley’s infrastructure.
