Assam Cabinet Grants Ministerial Status to BTC Deputy Chief

The Assam Cabinet has approved a key clause of the 2020 Bodoland Accord, granting Cabinet Minister status to BTC Deputy Chief Rihon Daimari and Minister of State rank to other Executive Members. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the decision after a Cabinet meeting at Lok Sewa Bhawan. The move came soon after massive ABSU rallies demanding full Accord implementation, seen as a political gesture toward the Bodoland People’s Front ahead of the 2026 polls.
