Assam Chief Minister Launches ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Tree Plantation Campaign

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the nationwide tree plantation campaign, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,’ under the Amrit Brikshya Andolan 2.0 on Thursday. This initiative aims to plant saplings across the state.

Sarma planted a sapling at the Ministers’ Colony in Dispur, Guwahati, early this morning. The ceremony was attended by several top officials, including Minister for Environment & Forests Chandra Mohan Patowary.

The plantation drive will continue until August 15, with the goal of planting three crore trees throughout Assam. The Chief Minister’s Office posted on the microblogging site ‘X’ about the campaign, highlighting its theme of honoring mothers and urging public participation to ensure its success.
