Assam CID Busts Fake Government Job Racket, Seven Arrested

Guwahati: The Assam Police CID has uncovered a fake government job racket that allegedly cheated unemployed youths by promising jobs in the Water Resources Department using forged appointment letters and fake recruitment documents.

Seven accused have been arrested so far, including a suspect from Nalbari. Police said the racket collected large sums of money from job seekers through fraudulent promises of government employment. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are likely. The CID has urged the public to verify recruitment notifications only through official government channels and avoid paying anyone for government jobs.
