Assam CM Announces Fund Distribution for Nijut Moina Scheme

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that Nijut Moina scheme funds will be distributed on October 6 through bank drafts, switching to direct benefit transfer (DBT) from November. The scheme benefits over 10 lakh girl students, providing monthly stipends ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500. It aims to support higher education and combat child marriage. Discussions are ongoing regarding the inclusion of self-finance course students. The distribution ceremony will be held via video conference.
