Assam CM Inaugurates Northeast’s First Aqua Tech Park in Sonapur

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated Northeast’s first Aqua Tech Park at Bogibari, Sonapur, to boost self-reliant fish production. Developed with NABARD and others, the park will showcase modern aquaculture like biofloc, aquaponics, and insect-based feed. Assam produced 4.99 lakh MT fish in 2023–24, ranking fourth nationally. Future plans include Rs 800 crore fishery projects, breed banks, markets, and youth support schemes under Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Assam.
