Assam CM Optimistic About Lok Sabha Elections Amidst Delimitation; Promises Development for Silchar

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed optimism about the impact of constituency delimitation on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections during his visit to Silchar, where his cabinet colleague Parimal Suklabaidya filed his nomination papers. Dr. Sarma emphasized the potential for a significant victory margin for Suklabaidya, aiming to secure the Silchar seat for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s agenda of Assam’s development.

Addressing a public gathering, Dr. Sarma pledged to complete pending infrastructure projects, including the East West corridor, before the 2026 Assembly elections. He commended Suklabaidya’s clean political record and promised further development initiatives for the Barak Valley and the state. Suklabaidya, echoing Sarma’s sentiments, pledged to work tirelessly for the people and the nation.

The event, attended by BJP leaders including state president Bhabesh Kalita and local MLAs, highlighted the party’s commitment to Silchar’s progress and its endorsement of Suklabaidya’s candidacy.
