Assam CM Reasserts Tough Stand on Illegal Encroachment

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday reiterated that eviction drives will be conducted wherever illegal encroachment is found in Upper Assam. Urging public vigilance, he asked residents not to rent houses or provide jobs to unknown or illegal settlers, stressing that safeguarding land requires collective responsibility. Sarma made the remarks during a bicycle distribution programme in Dibrugarh.
