Assam CM Warns Against Fraudulent Online Stock Investments
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma issued a warning on Tuesday, urging the public to avoid fraudulent online stock market investments that promise quick returns. He emphasized that claims of doubling money with minimal effort are typically scams. Sarma advised the public to follow proper procedures, such as opening a Demat account, and to ignore deceptive apps. This warning comes after Assam police arrested two individuals, Vishal Phukan and Swapnanil Das, for allegedly swindling crores through fraudulent investment schemes. A manhunt is also underway for a third suspect, Sumi Borah.
