Assam CM Warns of Consequences for Aligning with Congress; Advocates Support for BJP

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma issued a stern warning regarding the future of those aligning with Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party during a press briefing in Biswanath. Sarma emphasized that voting for Congress essentially means supporting Rahul Gandhi, contrasting it with endorsing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership by supporting the BJP.

Sarma stressed that supporters of PM Modi and believers in India’s global ascent would likely vote for the BJP in upcoming elections. He cautioned followers of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress to prepare for challenges ahead, suggesting an uncertain future for Gandhi and bleaker prospects for his supporters.

Highlighting recent political shifts, Sarma noted a decline in Congress’s influence, citing defections to the BJP. He expressed confidence in his prediction of Congress’s diminishing presence in Assam by 2026.
