Assam CM’s Vigilance Cell Probes Tourism Dept Recruitment Scam

The Chief Minister’s Special Monitoring Cell has launched an investigation into an alleged 2010-11 recruitment scam in Assam’s Tourism Department. A vigilance team raided the department’s office, seeking old recruitment files. Former Minister Rakibul Hussain is accused of facilitating over 10 illegal appointments. The Gauhati High Court had earlier confirmed irregularities. Recruited individuals have been asked to submit their qualification documents, and legal action is expected against those responsible.
