Assam Down Town University Celebrates World Laboratory Day in Guwahati

Assam Down Town University in Guwahati celebrated World Laboratory Day, highlighting the crucial role laboratories play in scientific advancement and innovation. Under the theme “The Future Is Lab: Embrace Innovation,” the event was organized by the Programme of Medical Laboratory Technology. The Vice Chancellor, Dr. N.C. Talukdar, inaugurated the event, with Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Puranik from AIIMS, Guwahati, as the chief guest. Eminent speakers discussed topics such as “Medical Laboratory: Equitable Access through Innovations” and “Labs of the Future.”

The celebration included essay and scientific poster competitions, with winners like Reena Tamang, Shahil Mustaf, Laltlanchungi, Ipsita Goswami, Md. Jakibul Hassan, Rakibul Hassan, Nukar Jilen, Tongbram Bidyananda Singh, Nimisha Hazarika, Gitartha SArma, and Hasina Begum Ferdosy being awarded for their achievements. Dr. Abhijit Dutta, Dean of the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, and Ms. Shila Kumari Singh, Associate Dean of the Institute of Paramedical Science, were instrumental in the success of the event, providing students and faculty an opportunity to interact with experts in the field.
