Assam Election Commission Reviews Panchayat Poll Preparations

The Assam State Election Commission reviewed preparations for the upcoming Panchayat Elections during a meeting on Thursday at the Sonitpur District Commissioners’ Office.

State Election Commissioner Alok Kumar, Secretary Gitartha Baruah, and Inspector General of Police Devojyoti Mukherjee discussed the initial preparations in Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Biswanath, Nagaon, and Hojai districts.

District commissioners presented updates on polling stations, training, ballot boxes, manpower, transportation, strong room logistics, material distribution, and ballot counting. The meeting emphasized the role of district commissioners in ensuring smooth elections.
