Assam Farmer Appeals for Government Action Over Repeated Elephant Attacks on Crops

Assam: Farmer Arvind Deka has expressed concern over repeated crop destruction by wild elephants, claiming that the problem has persisted for several years. He said farmers continue to suffer heavy financial losses as months of hard work and investment are destroyed just before harvest.

Deka urged the Assam Government and Agriculture Minister to visit affected areas, assess farmers’ difficulties and take immediate action. He also demanded effective measures to prevent human-elephant conflict, protect agricultural land and provide adequate compensation to affected farmers.
