Asian Games Gold Medallist Lovlina Borgohain Receives Grand Felicitation in Nazira

Nazira: Assam’s star boxer Lovlina Borgohain received a grand welcome in Nazira on Sunday following her gold medal victory in the middleweight category at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. Organised under the supervision of MLA Mayur Borgohain, the felicitation programme saw participation from over 100 organisations, with Lovlina honoured with traditional gamosas, bouquets and gifts.

Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support, Lovlina said the love and encouragement of the Assamese people inspired her to achieve greater success. Setting her sights on an Olympic gold medal, she also visited the site of the proposed Upper Nazira Sports Complex, planned across approximately 150 bighas of land.
