Assam Flood Situation Improves, 1.6 Lakh Still Affected

Floodwaters receded in Assam with major rivers flowing below danger levels. Yet, 1.6 lakh people across nine districts remain affected. Sribhumi is the worst-hit, and 27 deaths have been reported so far. Over 6,000 people are in relief camps, and Kaziranga has recorded seven animal deaths due to flooding.
