Assam Flood Situation Improves, Four Districts Still Affected

Guwahati: Assam’s flood situation has shown gradual improvement, with the number of affected people, inundated villages and damaged crop areas declining over the past week. However, Morigaon, Sivasagar, Biswanath and Nagaon continue to face flood-related impacts, with 137 villages and 30,601 people still affected.
The Dhansiri River at Numaligarh in Golaghat remains above the severe flood level, while 6,135.713 hectares of cropland are still affected. Flooding continues in several revenue circles, including Gohpur, Halem, Mikirbheta, Samaguri, Rupahi, Nagaon, Amguri, Sivasagar and Nazira. No fresh flood-related deaths were reported in the latest assessment.
