Assam Floods and Landslides Claim 10 Lives, Over 4 Lakh Affected

Two more deaths were reported in Assam due to floods and landslides, taking the toll to 10. Over 4 lakh people across 20+ districts remain affected, with Cachar worst hit. Nearly 3,524 hectares of cropland are submerged, 696 animals lost, and 52 relief camps are active. Several rivers, including the Brahmaputra, are flowing above danger levels. Rescue operations are ongoing with support from IAF. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma warned of worsening conditions due to heavy rainfall. Transport services, including trains and ferries, are disrupted in multiple areas.
