Assam Government Reshuffles Guardian Ministers Across Districts
The Assam government has reassigned guardian ministers to various districts, as announced in a recent notification by the Parliamentary Affairs Department. Fourteen cabinet ministers will now oversee development and welfare activities in their newly assigned districts. Their responsibilities include monitoring infrastructure projects, welfare schemes, and ensuring the effective implementation of government initiatives.
The reshuffle has seen ministers like Atul Bora, previously overseeing Kamrup (M) and North Lakhimpur, now managing Kamrup (M) and Nalbari. Similarly, Ranjeet Kumar Dass has been reassigned to Karimganj, Dhubri, and Bongaigaon.
This move aims to infuse fresh perspectives into district-level governance while continuing the objectives of the Guardian Minister Programme, introduced in 2021.
