Guwahati to Launch Hop-On Hop-Off Catamaran Service for River Tourism
The Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) is set to launch a Hop-on Hop-off Catamaran Service in Guwahati this weekend, aimed at boosting river tourism. The service will connect four key points along the Brahmaputra River: Hanuman Mandir, Kamakhya, Kachari, and Sukleshwar, offering tourists a flexible way to explore the city’s historic landmarks by water. The service will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Two air-conditioned catamarans, each accommodating 100 passengers, will operate the route. Passengers can board and disembark at any stop with a single ticket, making it a convenient way to explore Guwahati. Future plans include a vertical lift to Kamakhya Temple, further enhancing the tourist experience.
