Assam Government to Launch Public Service Rights Commission to Combat Corruption

The Assam government will launch the Assam State Commission for Right to Public Services on October 2, as announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The commission aims to enhance transparency and curb corruption by allowing citizens to file complaints against corrupt government employees. The commission’s structure will include a Chief Commissioner and other officials appointed by the Governor, based on recommendations from a committee led by the Chief Minister. This move is part of broader efforts to ensure timely public services and accountability. Additionally, a new digital portal for mutual transfers among Grade III-IV employees will also be launched on October 2.
