Assam Government to Renovate 252 Rural Schools with ₹1,800 Crore Investment

The Assam government is investing over ₹1,800 crore to renovate and construct new buildings for 252 state-run educational institutions. These schools, selected from each of the 126 assembly constituencies, will benefit from infrastructure upgrades under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF). Construction is already underway and expected to be completed by next year.

The initiative, which is part of a broader project to upgrade 322 schools with a total budget of ₹2,369.86 crore, includes schools like Patacharkuchi Vidyapith, Earle HS School, and Graham Bazar Girls’ High School. The schools were chosen based on recommendations from local MLAs.
