Assam Govt Announces ₹25,000 Reward for Jhumoir Dance Participants
The Assam government will award ₹25,000 to each participant in the upcoming Jhumoir Binandini event on February 24 at Guwahati’s Sarusajai Stadium. Over 8,000 young dancers from Assam’s tea gardens will perform the world’s largest Jhumoir dance, celebrating 200 years of the Assam tea industry. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the cultural and historical significance of the event, which aims to set a Guinness World Record. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend.
