Assam Govt Hands Over PWD Engineer Joshita Das Death Case to CBI

The Assam Cabinet has decided to transfer the death case of 26-year-old PWD engineer Joshita Das to the CBI, citing public demand and suspicious circumstances. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the move, with the handover expected within 20–25 days. Das was found dead in Bongaigaon on July 22, leaving a note accusing two senior officials of workplace pressure. Both have been arrested. The incident has sparked protests and raised concerns over corruption and pressure in government offices.
