Assam Govt Introduces New Child Adoption Leave Rules for Female Employees

The Assam government has announced new Child Adoption Leave (CAL) rules for female employees, granting up to 180 days of leave for adopting a child under one year old. Eligibility requires fewer than two surviving children (biological or adopted). CAL is granted only after completing legal adoption procedures recognized by CARA. Leave cannot be availed during probation or in more than one spell.
