Assam Govt Plans Heat Action Strategy Amid Rising Temperatures

Amid rising heat and poor monsoon, Assam is formulating a Heat Action Plan. Seventeen departments have been tasked with Assam-specific plans to be presented on July 28. ASDMA will raise awareness, while DDMAs will identify schools lacking power and cooling. Solar panels may be installed. Guwahati recorded its 5th highest July temperature at 37.6°C; heat stroke concerns are growing.
