Assam Govt Releases 73 Part-Time Polytechnic Lecturers

Education Minister Ranoj Pegu confirmed the removal of 73 part-time lecturers from Assam’s polytechnics and engineering institutes. He stated that their roles were always temporary and urged them to apply for regular faculty positions through state exams. The High Court had earlier issued a stay order allowing them to continue, but with its revocation, the government proceeded with their release. Pegu reiterated that Assam has no policy to convert part-time jobs into permanent positions.
