Assam Govt to Allot Land for KKHSOU Regional Centre in Barak Valley

The Assam government will provide land for a Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) regional centre in Barak Valley. Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajendra Prasad Das said the move will expand higher education access, noting KKHSOU contributes 11% to Assam’s Gross Enrolment Ratio. The university runs 338 centres, including in jails, and has 1.9 lakh learners across 50 programmes. Prof. Das stressed strong measures against exam cheating. The centre will further boost educational reach in the region.
