Assam Govt to Launch Subsidized Food Scheme for NFSA Families

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will launch a new welfare scheme on November 10 to enhance food security for NFSA beneficiaries. Families receiving free rice will now get Masoor Dal at ₹69/kg, sugar at ₹38/kg, and salt at ₹10/kg through Fair Price Shops.

The scheme, implemented by the Food and Civil Supplies Department, will operate via e-POS during “Anna Seva Din” from the 1st to 10th of each month, benefiting nearly 1.98 lakh families in Kamrup Metro.
