Assam Hikes Daily Wages for State-Run Tea Garden Workers to ₹250

On International Tea Day, the Assam government raised daily wages of Assam Tea Corporation Ltd (ATCL) workers from ₹220 to ₹250, effective October 1. This aligns their pay with other tea gardens. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also announced a ₹5,000 one-time aid for over 7 lakh tea garden workers and highlighted ongoing welfare initiatives like model schools and medical units.
