Assam Issues Guidelines for Scooter Distribution to HS Toppers

Guwahati: The Assam Higher Education Department has issued guidelines for distributing scooters under the Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award to students securing 80% or more marks in the Higher Secondary Examination 2026.

Eligible students must be permanent residents of Assam and apply online through the designated portal. The government will cover registration and insurance costs, and beneficiaries will also receive a free helmet. Students receiving the scooter benefit will not be eligible for the Nijut Moina Scheme, unless they choose to forgo the award.
