Assam Launches Free Textbook Distribution for 2026–27 Academic Session

The Assam government on Tuesday launched the distribution of free textbooks for the 2026–27 academic session in Guwahati. Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu inaugurated the programme.

Under the initiative, 3.42 crore textbooks in multiple languages will be provided to nearly 50 lakh students. The minister directed officials to ensure timely and monitored distribution to support quality education across the state.
