Assam Leads the Way: Surpasses One Crore Ayushman Cards in Landmark Healthcare Milestone

Assam has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first state in India to distribute over one crore Ayushman cards, as announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The accomplishment highlights Assam’s commitment to realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Universal Health Coverage through initiatives like ‘Viksit Bharat Yatra’ and ‘Ayushman Apke Dwar Abhiyan’ under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri-Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) scheme, providing health coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family per year.
