Assam LoP Denies Rift in Congress Over Debabrata Saikia’s Letter

Guwahati: Assam Leader of the Opposition Wazed Ali Choudhury on Saturday dismissed reports of differences within the Congress Legislature Party, saying former LoP Debabrata Saikia’s letter only suggested raising eviction and land rights issues in the Assembly.

Choudhury said the letter did not reflect dissatisfaction with his leadership and accused media reports of misinterpreting its contents. He added that he had already sought a discussion on eviction-related issues before receiving Saikia’s letter.
