Assam Man Arrested in Bengaluru Woman Murder Case

A man from Assam has been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly killing a 47-year-old woman and dumping her body in Tirupalya Lake. Police said the accused was in a relationship with the woman, who had reportedly been pressuring him to marry her.

The woman’s body was recovered on May 9 under Hebbagodi police station limits. Initially treated as an unnatural death, the case later turned into a murder investigation after the postmortem confirmed death by strangulation and suffocation.

Police arrested the accused from Tirupalya on May 14 based on technical and circumstantial evidence. During questioning, he allegedly confessed to the crime. The accused was later produced before a court.
