Assam, Meghalaya CMs Discuss Border and Development Issues

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma met Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma in Guwahati to discuss mutual growth and border issues. Both states earlier agreed to erect border pillars in five of six disputed areas, leaving Pilingkata unresolved. The meeting comes amid fresh tensions in Tarabari along the interstate border. Assam and Meghalaya had signed an MoU in 2022 to settle disputes in six of 12 contested areas.
