Assam, Nagaland CMs to Visit Eviction Sites Amid Border Tensions

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio are expected to visit eviction sites in Golaghat’s Rengma Reserve Forest soon. MLA Biswajit Phukan confirmed the second phase of eviction will begin on August 18, covering 11,000 bighas for afforestation. The move follows recent tensions after three Assamese youths were assaulted and shot by armed miscreants in Merapani.
