Assam NRC Yet to Be Implemented Despite ₹1,600 Crore Spend

Despite ₹1,600 crore spent and years of work, Assam’s NRC published in 2019 remains unimplemented. It excluded 19 lakh people, but no rejection slips were issued. AASU claims the list includes suspected Bangladeshis and wants it reviewed. The Supreme Court hasn’t heard the matter yet. AASU insists only an error-free NRC can address Assam’s infiltration issues.
