Assam Panchayat Elections: Voter List Finalized

The State Election Commission of Assam has finalized the voter list for Panchayat elections in 27 districts, excluding Sixth Schedule and municipal areas.

The electoral rolls, published on Sunday, include 1,80,14,913 voters: 90,60,640 male, 89,53,865 female, and 408 third-gender voters. The polls will cover 397 Zilla Parishad Constituencies (ZPCs) after a recent delimitation of Gaon Panchayats, Anchalik Panchayats, and ZPCs.

Voters can verify details or download rolls via the Commission’s website. New voters may still register if eligible by January 1, 2025.

Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass indicated polls might begin by February 10, pending a High Court decision on a Public Interest Litigation.
