Assam Pays Statewide Tribute on Bhupen Hazarika’s 14th Death Anniversary

Assam observed the 14th death anniversary of cultural icon Dr. Bhupen Hazarika with programmes across 35 districts. Over 2 lakh people sang “Manuhe Manuhor Babe” as the state sought UN recognition for the song. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a 100-ft statue, dedicated Bihu night, memorial beautification, and roads named after Hazarika. Thousands participated in musical tributes in Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Bijni, and Chirang, celebrating his enduring message of unity and humanity.
