Assam Plans Japanese Industrial Town Near Guwahati

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced plans to establish a Japanese industrial town near Guwahati to boost industrial growth. Speaking at the India-Japan Intellectual Conclave, he highlighted Japan’s role in sectors like electronics, robotics, and renewable energy. Japanese firms are set to collaborate on a semiconductor assembly unit in Jagiroad. Sarma seeks Japanese investment in green energy, EVs, and precision engineering. He invited Japanese leaders to the Advantage Assam 2.0 investment conclave on February 25-26, which Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate.
