Assam Police Announces Major Reshuffle of Senior Officers

Guwahati: The Assam Government has ordered a major reshuffle in the state police, transferring and posting more than 18 senior officers, including several holding the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).

Among the key changes, Sarmistha Barua has been posted as SSP, Darrang, while Madhurima Das will take charge as DCP (Administration) in the Guwahati Police Commissionerate.

Prakash Sonowal has been transferred from Morigaon to serve as SSP, Dhemaji. Saurav Jyoti Saikia has been posted as SSP, CID (Training), while Jyoti Ranjan Nath will become Commandant of the 10th APBn, Kahilipara.

Ashif Ahmed has also been transferred and posted as SSP, Biswanath. The changes form part of a wider administrative reshuffle in the Assam Police.
